The Waking Fire
“As the sun rises over the turning earth, I stand in the temple of this living body. The Force awakens light within my cells — dawn meeting dawn.”
Interfaith · Embodied · Simple
You are stardust made conscious — the luminous thread between self and cosmos. The Church of the Body is a simple, non-sectarian practice of gratitude, care, and wonder for the living temple you already are.
“Within this fathom-long body lies the world, its origin, and the path beyond it.”
The Credo
We are all made of this stuff we don't quite understand.
We didn't ask to be here — yet the body is creating us, and our consciousness, moment by moment, without pause.
We don't know the reason. But we are thankful for its continuous, nonstop work.
Trillion beautiful cells · one you
I love each and every one of my selves — my body, my atoms — and I hope that they love me too.
The relationship we have with our bodies is so much more than mechanical. They are not a suit we put on and drop off.
We must love them while we're here.
The Church of the Body is a forming, interfaith community that honors the sacred connection between body and cosmos. We keep it simple: reverence through daily care, gratitude, and presence. No dogma, no hierarchy — just practice.
COTB's Speaker for the Body carries a living synthesis of many currents — Temple of the Jedi Order, ULC Jedi Knight, Reiki practitioner, Hermetic initiate, Taoist, Pagan, computer scientist, and devoted lover of science. All now flow through one embodied temple.
Straightforward by design. Everything else is practice.
Act with integrity, compassion, and accountability — toward your body, toward others, toward the world.
Walk your way in a manner that does not infringe on the rights of others, and that observes the law.
Plain words. Lived daily.
Your body is a living temple — a microcosm of the universe, worthy of reverence and care.
The body speaks through sensation, mood, dream, and habit. Learn to listen.
Trust embodied wisdom. Align with cycles of rest, nourishment, movement, and repair.
We are atoms contemplating atoms. Caring for the body harmonizes us with the wider whole.
Practice gratitude and kindness toward the flesh you live in. Tenderness is a discipline.
Honor the bond between self, others, and world. What you heal in you, you offer everywhere.
True growth. True connection. Never an excuse not to thank the temple that is your body.
This is about true growth and true connection with the living temple that is your own body. Since the temple is your body, there is never an excuse not to offer at least a moment of daily gratitude to the vessel that carries you. A simple scan, a breath of thanks, one small act of care — that is enough to begin. None of us asked to be here, and life can feel overwhelming, yet it remains an extraordinary gift. This practice invites you back into relationship with the one thing always with you: your own living temple.
Your path will be your own. The only requirement is that you begin where you are, with the body you have today.
Welcome to the temple.
May the Force flow through you — and through every cell of your living body.
In modern life our bodies still need us, and we still need our bodies. Set one gentle hourly reminder. Every hour, take 2–5 seconds to reconnect. No ritual. Just presence.
When the gentle alarm sounds:
“Hey body… how you doing? Love you. Shoulders, you good?”
Take one quick breath. Notice shoulders, neck, jaw, breath — whatever feels tight or easy right now.
Then, mind and every cell together:
“Thank you for carrying me. We are in this together. May the Force flow through every cell right now.”
That's it. Two to five seconds, anywhere. The more you check in, the more clearly the body speaks back.
We live inside a great turning wheel — sun rising, cresting, sinking, hidden beneath the earth. Most days we forget we are part of that wheel. The body remembers. At noon the fire peaks in the chest; at midnight the quiet pulse returns in every cell. The solar adorations are simple love notes between your living temple and the living earth. Say the words. Feel the light shift. This is how the cosmos keeps whispering through your blood and breath: “I am with you. You are with me. We turn together.”
The body is not silent. It hums. Five simple tones — E I A O U — spiraling from crown to root. The Force made audible. Sound traveling through bone, blood, and breath like light through stained glass. You do not need to believe anything; only let the vibration move. The throat opens, the heart answers, the belly remembers, the feet root. This is the temple singing back to the stars that made it. Chant once. Feel the shift.
(5–7 minutes) Do at least two solar points per day. Scale to all four when you can.
“This food was offered at the altar of the body.
Thank you, for your life that now becomes mine.
Your force feeds me, sustains me, becomes me.
I do not fully know why it is this way —
but I receive it with humility, with gratitude, with love.”
“As the sun rises over the turning earth, I stand in the temple of this living body. The Force awakens light within my cells — dawn meeting dawn.”
“At the sun's height above the living earth, I honor the peak fire in this body temple. The Force burns clear and strong at my core — will aligned with will.”
“As the sun sinks into the earth's embrace, I release the day's current back into the temple. The Force gathers in shadow and rest — light and dark as one.”
“In the deep dark while the sun turns hidden beneath the earth, I listen to the silent pulse of the Force in every cell. The temple renews in night's quiet fire.”

Stand or sit. Breathe slowly. “I am here. The Force flows through me. The living temple is awake.”
Crown to soles, thank each part. Ask gently, “What do you need?” Listen without judgment.
“The Force flows through me as sound and light.” Chant E-I-A-O-U, top to bottom. Feel it spiral through the five gates.
Give the body exactly what it asked for — a deep breath, self-hug, water, stretch, rest… whatever it needs.
Place hands on the main gates. Feel everything lock together. “All is connected. All is whole.”
Deep inhale… grateful exhale. Whisper: “May the Force be with you — and through me, with all.”
The carousel above turns through a hundred voices. A few, at rest, below.
